Aboard Norwegian Sky ? World title contender Jason 'El Nino' Pagara of the Philippines is slated to face Hiroki Okada of Japan in Tokyo on Dec. 19. Okada's handler Shingo Suzuki, here to attend the WBO convention, has informed Philboxing. At stake is the WBO Asia-Pacific super lightweight title.

?I have an agreement with ALA Promotions for the fight. It's done,? Suzuki said.

Pagara (40-2-1, 25KOS) had been highly rated by the WBO in the 140 division in the last three years, staying at No. 1 for a long time before dropping down due to fighting lesser or unranked opponents. Pagara last fought 34 year old James Onyango of Kenya who had a record of 23-11-1 as a welterweight. Although Pagara knocked down Oyango twice in the early rounds, Onyango came back strong to turn the tables on Jason who was able to get away with a split draw. In the WBO's latest rakings, Pagara taken off in the super flyweight and has been ranked No. 8 at welterweight. It now appears that Pagara, a long time holder of the WBO international title at 140 lbs and had also won the WBO Asia-Pacific title at 140 lbs, will return back to his old division and fight Okada for his belt.

Okada (16-0-0, 11KOs), 27, has held the Japanese super lightweight title since 2014 and will be fighting for the first time for a regional title.
