BACOLOD CITY -- Reigning Asian Boxing Federation (ABF) lightweight champion Merlito ?Tiger? Sabillo (26-4-1, 13KOs) is set to defend his belt against Crimson Omayao of Valencia, Bukidnon on October 20 at the SM City Bacolod Parking Area.

This event dubbed as Fist of Glory: Double Championship ? Road to Glory is presented by Maris-Monju-Mayor Bing Leonardia Boxing development Program.

It was recalled that the 33-year-old Sabillo captured the ABF belt after stopping Indonesian veteran Jack ?Destroyer? Amisa in 2:58 tick of the third round during the title fight staged at the Gaisano City Mall Bacolod.

For the former WBO minimumweight champion, winning the ABF title only prove that he can still fight for another world championship. ?With Coach Sonny Villagonzalo in my team, I?m optimistic that I can achieve it,? Sabillo said.

For the main undercard, undefeated Jayr Raquinel (7-0-1, 5KOs) of Cauayan, Negros Occidental will face Richard Rosales (12-4-2, 7KOs) of Tagbilaran, Bohol for the Interim Oriental and Pacific Boxing Federation (OPBF) flyweight title.

Both fighters are coming off impressive wins as Raquinel stopped Murcia?s Elmer Liboon in the opening round of their scheduled 6-round battle last May 27 while Rosales forced Rey Morano to retire at the start of the second round during their face-off also in May.

Meanwhile, in the supporting bouts, Ernesto Alira of Murcia will take Bacolod City?s Michael Zulueta in an 8-round clash at 108 lbs. while Libo-on will try to redeem himself as he faces Paolo Sy of Bacolod City in a 4-round fight at 112 lbs.

Completing the pro-fight card is Murcia?s Tomas Rebusit taking Mark Mahilum of San Carlos City in another 4-round fight at 112 lbs.

Amateur fights will also to be featured in this boxing event ? sanctioned by the Games and Amusement Board headed by Chairman Abraham Khalil Mitra.*
