CARSON, CA -- Srisaket Sor Rungvisai of Thailand proved that his first win against former world No. 1 pound for pound Roman Gonzalez of Nicaragua was no fluke when he stopped Gonzalez in the 4th round and securely holds unto his WBC world super flyweight belt at the StubHub Center here Saturday night.
Rungvisai (44-4-1, 40KO) dropped Gonzalez (46-2-1, 38KO) with a vicious right cross early in round four and when Gonzalez got up to continue, Rungvisai landed another equally vicious right hook dropping Gonzalez for good. Gonzalez stayed on his back a few minutes before he recovered his senses. The victory for the Thai effectively shut out the pro Gonzalez Latino crowd who reacted with a stunned silence.
