UNDERCARD RESULTS FROM COTTO-KAMEGAI: JOET GONZALEZ REMAINS UNDEFEATED

Below are the early undercard results from the Miguel Cotto vs Yoshihiro Kamegai WBO world super welterweight title fight at the StubHub Center Saturday night.

7th fight, 10 rounds featherweight: Joet Gonzalez (17-0-0, 9KO) of Glendora, CA stops Deivis Julio Bassa (19-3-0, 11KOs) in round 6 after dropping him earlier in round 3. Referee Jack Reiss stops the fight after Julio was trapped on the ropes with Gonzalez all over him. (top photo)


6th fight, 8 rounds super bantamweight: Emilio Sanchez (16-0-0, 11KO) of Pacoima CA stops Danny Flores (11-9-1, 5KO) in round 5. The referee waives off fight after a torrid exchange at ring center leaving Flores almost helpless and ready to go down. Time 33 seconds of round 5.


5th fight, 4 rounds featherweight: Tenochtitian Nava (7-0-0, 1KO) of Los Angeles, CA stays undefeated with a unanimous decision win over Angel Aguliar (8-14-0, 1KO) of Mexico City. Scores are all 39-37 in favor of Nava. (top photo)


4th fight, 6 rounds super welterweight: Alexis Rocha (9-0-0, 6KO) of Santa Ana, CA, drops Easu Herrera (‎19-10-1, 10KO) of Tlaquepaque, MX with a counter right just before bell sounded at the end of round one. Herrera stayed on the mat for 2 minutes before doctors helped him to a stool. Time: 2:59.


3rd fight, 6 rounds super lightweight: Genaro Gamez (6-0-0, 4KO) of San Diego, CA drops Rafael Reyes (7-11-0, 5KO) of Tamaulipas, MX in round 2 and went on to win by unanimous decision. Scores: 59-53, 59-53, 58-54.


2nd fight, 4 rounds super bantamweight: Javier Padilla (3-0-1, 3KO) of Indio CA and Ricardo Arias (1-1-2, 0KO) of Mexico City fought to a 4 round draw. All scores are 38-38.


1st fight, 8 rounds minimumweight: Janel Rivera of Catano, Puerto Rico (16-2-3, 10 KO) stops Marco Sanchez Mexicali (12-6-3, 7KO) in round one. Time 1:59.
