RECKY DULAY ON A COMEBACK TRAIL AT BELASCO THEATER JULY 14

Former Philippine National Team member Recky Dulay (9-2-0, 6KO) of Catarman, Northern Samar will fight on the Golden Boy Promotions LA Fight Club at the Belasco Theater in downtown Los Angeles on July 14, 2017.

Dulay fights WBA Fedelatin super featherweight champion Jaime ?Jaimito? Arboleda (10-0-0, 8KO) of Curundu, Panama in a non-title 8 rounder. The Dulay-Corundu fight is the first fight of the evening that will be televised on Estrella TV as part of their coverage of the monthly promotions of Oscar de la Hoya?s Golden Boy Promotions.

Former WBC flyweight champion Rodel ?Batang Mandaue? Mayol now trains Dulay at the Wildcard Gym in Hollywood. Mayol now makes Los Angeles his home and trains Filipino boxers who come to California to fight for glory and a little bit of money, although no necessarily in that order.

Mayol is a new trainer, a new breed at that. The Dulay fight is his third in his young budding career as a trainer. The first two he trained came out to score upset wins over their opponents.

The first one, Aston Palicte (23-2-0, 19KO) scored an upset over Oscar Cantu (14-1-0, 1KO) in Las Vegas and snatched the WBO InterContinental Super Flyweight and the NABO Super Flyweight belts.

The second one that Mayol trained scored an even bigger upset. Romero Duno (14-1-0, 13KO) of Cotobato City scored an unforgettable win at the Belasco Theater last March 2017 when he KO?d the much hyped Golden Boy boxer, Christian ?Chimpa? Gonzalez (16-1-0, 14KO) of Los Angeles. Duno knocked down Gonzalez in round 1 and finished him off nicely in round 2. He won the WBC Youth Intercontinental lightweight belt.

Dulay?s fight with Arboleda is a non-title fight. None-the-less, Mayol is not taking any chances. He trained Dulay harder than he trained Palicte and Duno knowing that Dulay?s last two fights, one in January at the Makati Cinema Square where he KO?d a journey man, Noel Adelmita (13-9-2, 2KO) of Cotobato City and the second, where Gervonta Davis (18-0-0, 17KO) stopped Dulay in round 2 at the MGM in Las Vegas were less than impressive. Mayol does not only want Dulay to win, he wants to protect his winning record as a trainer as well, thus he put Dulay through the meat grinder.

?I training him to the best of my abilities and pushing him to his limits,? Mayol stated. I have no doubt he will be well prepared and his conditioning will be great. It is now up to him to prove to me that he deserves to stay in my group of boxers.?

Dulay for his part stated that he will ?do his very best to put up a great fight?. He says he wants to prove to all that he still is a great prospect to consider, particularly to his new trainer, Rodel Mayol and to promoters in the US.

And, he added in jest that he should win because he will be using a mouthguard that is made for champions; referring to the custom mouthguard we gave him for free.
