JINAN, CHINA ? The second professional fight card held this month in the capital of Shandong province was another back to back weekend show at the Maida Energy Sports Center.
The first day had eight matches with weights ranging from junior flyweight to super middleweight. There were six boxers making their pro debut.
An interesting sidelight to the Friday card was the debut of a female referee, Yuan Yunzi. She could very well be the first female professional boxing referee in mainland China.
She refereed the opening bout between junior flyweights Fan Jin and Zeng Yujie, with the latter winning by TKO in the second round. Fan was receiving a stream of unanswered hard punches when the fight was stopped.
For the other Friday results: Li Yongzhe chose not to answer the bell for the 4th and final round against Cai Shidong, Ayibole Mulatihan and Zhang Chao battled to a split draw, Quan Di beat Luo Qiang by majority decision, Chiaching Hung stopped Wu Zhizheng in the opening round, Saierlan Muerzhabieke beat an exhausted Zhou Lu by third round TKO, Biegezhati Suosailehan and Ahatelike Muerzhabieke fought to a majority draw, and Wang Duo fought through a cut on the bridge of his nose and got a unanimous verdict against Guo Yuanqing.
Major League Boxing was previously known as the League of Fists. It is promoted by SECA and TOP RANK and designed as a grassroots talent search and boxing tournament. The winners of the tournament finals were awarded as WBO Greater China champions in their division.
The second day had seven pairs of boxers from flyweight to heavyweight. There were also six fighters who made their pro debut.
For the results - Hu Xingqiang beat Pie Jiahe by TKO in round three, Wang Cheng got a unanimous verdict against Pan Fei, Liu Fuxin won by third round TKO against Cao Jinkai, Qing JiRu Mu beat Li Wentao by unanimous decision, Ji Qingbin earned a majority decision against Hao Zhendong, Ran Xinyu lost to Dong Youli by TKO in the second round and the final bout was an entertaining heavyweight scrap between Suerge and Zhu Junsong that ended in a split draw.
The two day fight card was officiated by the Professional Boxing Commission (PBC) of China.
