Boxing action returns to the Mandaue City Sports Complex on June 10 with the world class Saludar brothers, Vic and Froilan, featured in the event. Fight fans in Cebu will also get an opportunity to scrutinize two up and coming undefeated prospects from Mindanao, Robert Paradero and Vince Paras.
Vic Saludar (14-2,9KO?s) is ranked number two in the world in the minimumwieght division in the April 2017 rankings of the World Boxing Organization (WBO). The WBO champion is Tatsuya Fukuhara of Japan. Saludar lost in his bid to win a world title in 2015. He dropped Japanese Kosei Tanaka in round five and was leading on the scorecards but succumbed to a body shot in the sixth round.
?Vicious? Vic has won three straight fights since the Tanaka loss including the WBO Oriental belt. He will be fighting Toto Landero (8-1-2,2KO?s), whose only loss was to RWS boxer Joey Canoy. Last year, Landero captured the WBC Eurasia Pacific minimumweight title.
Froilan Saludar (24W-2L-1D,15KO?s) a.k.a. The Sniper, will try to work his way back up the rankings when he tackles Salatiel Amit (10W-2L-2D,7KO?s) of the Omega Gym. Froilan lost were to world ranked boxers McWilliams Arroyo of Puerto Rico and Takuma Inoue of Japan. He is a former WBO Intercontinental and Asia Pacific flyweight champion. Amit had an entertaining competitive unanimous win against Renerio Arizala last March at the Waterfront Cebu City Hotel.

WBO vice-president for Asia-Pacific Leon Panoncillo Jr speaks during Thursday's presscon. To his right is promoter Kenneth Rontal.
In what looms as the first real test in his career, 18 year old Vince Paras (10W-0L,9KO?s) will take on Omega gym tough guy Jimboy Haya (10W-3L-2D,6KO?s). They will battle for the WBO Asia Pacific Youth light flyweight title.
Paras, who hails from Gen.Santos City, has never been past the sixth round but Haya is battle-tested having gone the full route against Vic Saludar in their WBO Oriental title bout.
Robert Paradero (13W-0L,8KO?s), an undefeated prospect from Bukidnon will be pitted against veteran Fabio Marfa (25W-33L-4D,12KO?s). Paradero beat Ronie Tanallon by unanimous decision for the WBO Asia Pacific minimumweight title last October in Gen.Santos City. Four of his last six fights ended by the short route. Marfa has faced many up and coming Filipino prospects. He lost to Merlito Sabillo, who would win a WBO world title, and future world title challengers Denver Cuello, Arthur Villanueva, Joey Canoy and Melvin Jerusalem.
There will be a special attraction on the card, a female bout featuring undefeated Casey Morton from Hawaii,USA against Phannaluk Kongsang of Thailand.
The card billed as "ENGKWENTRO DINHI SA MANDAUE " VISAYAS VS. MINDANAO is promoted by Kenneth Rontal of the Championship Boxing Development of the Philippines. They had a press conference held at the Abuhan Restaurant Thursday to officially launch the event.
