LAS VEGAS -- Mexican superstar Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez dished out a dominant performance against his equally well known Mexican rival the son of a legend Julio Cesar Chavez Jr to win by a shutout at the T-Mobile Arena here Saturday night in front of a capacity crowd and goes home as the best of the Mexican warriors.

All three judges had identical scores of 120 to 108 in favor of Canelo.

Canelo completely dominated the bigger and heftier Chavez Jr the whole night throwing everything on the hapless Culiacan warrior as Chavez, who last fought in December, 2015 against Dominik Britsch, had no answer for Canelo's quickness.

Canelo (50-2-1, 32KOs) of Guadalaja, now improves his record to 51 wins, 2 defeats and a draw while Chavez Jr, of Culiacan, dropped to 48-2-1, 34KOs.

The boxing world now looks forward to the most awaited boxing matchup between Canelo and the acknowledged boxing kingpin Gennady Golovkin of Kazakhstan who was in attendance at the T-Mobile Arena Saturday night.
