SONSONA ARRIVES IN RUSSIA FOR WBO INTERCONTINENTAL FIGHT

Sanman boxer Eden Sonsona (36W-6L-2D,13KO?s) will be gunning for the for the WBO Intercontinental super featherweight title against unbeaten Russian Evgeny Chuprakov (17W-0L,9KO?s) on May 5 at the DIVS in Ekaterinburg, Russia.

He arrived in Russia April 30 with his cornermen, Sanman gym trainer Romeo Desabille and trainer-father Boy Sonsona.

In his message to philboxing, Sanman Promotions CEO Jim Claude Mananquil stated that ?Eden has trained hard for this fight and I like his chances.?

Sonsona for his part said, ?I am excited and ready for war. I?ve won on the road before and I can do it again?.

The 28 year old Sonsona was referring to his upset win in Mexico over previously unbeaten Mexican Adrian Estrella two years ago. Sonsona won by TKO in the second round and got the WBC International Silver title.

Last February, Sonsona won the vacant WBF International super featherweight belt with a first round TKO win over Jovany Rota in Gen.Santos City.

The 27 year old Chuprakov previously held the WBO European title. He won the WBO Intercontinental belt last November by majority decision against Jeremiah Nakathila of Namibia in a fight held also at the DIVS.
