Buena Park?s Christian ?Chimpa? Gonzalez and Romero ?Ruthless? Duno of the Philippines both made weight today for their main event bout tomorrow at the LA Fight Club slated at the Belasco Theater in downtown Los Angeles. Both fighters hit the scales at 134.6 lbs.

The bout that is promoted by the famed Golden Boy Promotions is for the vacant WBC Youth InterContinental Lightweight belt.

Gonzalez, a local favorite carefully nurtured by Golden Boy Promotions, will risk his undefeated record of 16-0-0 (14K0) against a little known Filipino fighter in Romero Duno (12-1-0, 11 KO) of Tagum City, Davao del Norte.

Gonzalez? only other encounter with a Filipino boxer was with a journeyman, Jhon Gemino (13-6-1,7KO) of Lipa City. Gemino who is a legitimate super bantamweight and 4 weight divisions south of 135 lbs., fought Gonzales in June 2016 at 135lbs and took Gonzalez to the edge of round no. 8 before losing by a unanimous decision.

Duno is trained by former WBC flyweight champion Rodel Mayol. Mayol who now makes LA his home, trains his wards out of the Wildcard Gym in Hollywood. Duno is managed by young Jean Claude Manangquil.

Three bouts from the LA Fight Club will be televised live. The first on TV will be Bojado vs Leon, followed the co-main event of Rocha vs. Beckford and then the main event of Gonzalez vs Duno.
