Los Angeles, CA -- Last week on ?Balitang America? (ABS-CBN) a story was shown about the devastating knockout thrown by Nonito Donaire that earned him a world title. The story also touched upon the close family bond of the two brothers and their devotion to their father.
To a lot of us who know the Donaire family, this seems like old news. But what caught my eye was our favorite Filipina boxer, the very beautiful Ana Julaton who was also included in the segment.
Apparently the Donaire family has extended this family bond and is helping Ana on her upcoming pro debut Oct. 6th on the Pacquiao vs. Barrera undercard. It seems that the older brother Glen ?The Filipino Bomber? Donaire has been a huge influence on the ?Hurricane?.
?Glen is really a great person to be around. He is really an inspiration to see in the ring, he never gets tired, he is always upbeat and he works very hard.? says Ana.
The ?Flash? also has been given Ana a lot of encouragement and their father, Nonito Sr., worked with her on the mitts last week (showing her the Donaire secrets I?m sure).
When asked what it was like to do mitts with Donaire Sr. Ana responded ?Amazing!! He is so fast and he keeps you on your toes. It?s no wonder why both brothers are so good!!?
Ana wanted to express her heartfelt gratitude to Donaire family for their kindness, and also wanted to thank all of her Kababayans for their continued support and words of encouragement she has been receiving on her myspace page!
When I asked her what it?s been like to not have Freddie around she said, ?I miss him very much! I?m sorry I couldn?t go to the Philippines to train with him and Kuya Manny, it?s not what I expected for my 1st fight but I?m confident that my team here has prepared me well. Freddie has the ultimate decision about my performance and I plan to make him proud when I see him on the 22nd my last two weeks of training! I will be in shape ready for whatever he asks me to do.?
