After his defeat to pound for pound king Roman Gonzalez of Nicaragua on Nov. 17, 2015 in New York, two division world champion Brian Viloria returns to ring action on March 2 in Japan when he faces Ruben Montoya of Mexico in an 8-round super flyweight bout.

Viloria (36-5-0, 22KOs), 36, who captured world titles in the light flyweight and flyweight divisions and faced some of the biggest names in the lower weights, is currently deep in training at the Wildcard Gym in Los Angeles under Filipino trainer Marvin Somodio.

Montoya (14-4-1, 9KOs) from the border town Tamaulipas south of Texas, lost his last fight against compatriot and former world champion Pedro Guevarra on July 2, 2016.

Both Viloria and Montoya are coming from long layoffs before their March 2 bout which will be held at the famed Korakuen Hall in central Tokyo.
