JUSTICE INGLIS INDUCTS PBOC OFFICIALS

Mandaue City, Cebu ? Court of Appeals Justice Gabby Inglis inducted the newly elected officials of the Professional Boxing Officials of Cebu (PBOC) Friday afternoon hosted by FelJobs office along F.B. Cabahug St. here where the group also held their Christmas Party.

Inducted as president was boxing judge and radio broadcaster Edward Ligas; Dr Jose Unabia, vice-president; Judge Edgar Olalo, treasurer; Judge Arnie Najera, secretary and Referee Tony Pesons, seargent-at-arms. Also inducted to the board of directors are Referee Romar Kristoffer Embodo, Judges Noel Flores and Teddy Alivio and Timekeeper Cipriano Gonzales.

Ligas, in a statement, said he wants to strengthen the group and improve its member's competence by conducting regular seminars and to establish a harmonious relationship with Games and Amusements Board (GAB), the Philippines' agency that regulate professional sports.

Justice Inglis, who was also the guest speaker during the occasion, challenged the boxing officials to be ?independent, free from any pressure or strenuous influence, fair, competent and diligent? as they execute their functions as boxing judges and referees. He added that as boxing officials ?you should act in propriety and treat all boxers as equals regardless of which promoters or boxing stables they belong.?

Inglis confided that he was a boxing fan since his childhood and regularly watch live boxing events and proudly buy his own tickets to help the promotion.
