Los Angeles, CA -- Golden Boy Promotions has done it again!

The world famous promotions company of Oscar de la Hoya recently announced an agreement they signed with the Morongo Tribe, one the largest Native America Tribes in California. The Tribe runs the Morongo Casino Resort and Spa at Cabazon, California.

Until the casino was built some 3 years ago, Cabazon was just a quiet town an hour southeast of Los Angeles more known for its outlet stores and the Hadley Dried Fruit stand. The casino changed all of that. Cabazon is now a destination to visit this side of Las Vegas.

With the agreement, Golden Boy Promotions will present a series of boxing cards featuring world class gladiators at Morongo.

Evidently, this deal between GBP and Morongo will be a positive for Filipino boxers many of whom are under the banner of Golden Boy. With the additional fight cards being presented by GBP, more Filipinos will have a chance to show case their talents without waiting to be on the undercard of huge fight cards in Las Vegas and places similar.

The inaugural card will be on Friday, September 28, 2007. It will be headlined by WBO Super Bantamweight Champion, Daniel Ponce de Leon against Reynaldo Lopez on a 10 round non-title fight. The card will be televised by Telefutura Solo Boxeo. GBP plan to have its second fight card on November 16, 2007.

“I am pleased to be working with the great people at the Morongo Casino. They have shown a real commitment to bringing world class boxing to the Inland Empire and Southern California” said Oscar de la Hoya, the GBP President.

Sean Sullivan, the general manager of the casino in return stated:- “ We believe that Golden Boy is the future of boxing and together, the Morongo Casino and Golden Boy hold the key to the future of great boxing events in Southern California.”

Tickets for the evening’s fight card are priced at $150, $100, and $50. They went on sale beginning September 4th and are available at the Morongo Box Office which can be reached at phone number (951) 755-5391
