Australian Promoter Peter Maniatis informed philboxing that former two-time IBF light flyweight Champion Ulises Solis was in Melbourne,Australia Thursday and met with him to discuss a comeback fight.

They talked about a fight set for the middle of next year against former WBA interim light flyweight champion Randy Petalcorin of the Sanman Gym.

?Solis told me that his brother Jorge Solis, who fought Manny Pacquiao in Texas and would be training him if he decides to makes comeback fight,? Maniatis said.

"Petacorin is a good fighter former WBA world Champion and I am a two time IBF world champion. I believe this fight would generate a lot of interest if we fight. I am only 35 years old and have not fought for a few years but I am always in the gym training and also training other boxers. I take boxing seriously? stated Solis.

"The offer would have to be good to get me out of retirement" said Solis

"Solis is a good name for Petalcorin. He has fought in 14 world title fights but has not fought for 3 years and at 35 years of age it?s up to him to get into shape to fight Petalcorin. I think this fight would be a statement fight for Petalcorin" Maniatis said.

Ulises Solis has not fought since the much talked about altercation with Saul Alvarez which resulted in Solis sustaining a busted jaw. In his last fight in 2013, Solis lost by KO to fellow Mexican Edgar Sosa.

Solis? record stands at 35W-3L-3D,22KO?s. Petalcorin (25W-2L-1D,18KO?s) scored his second straight win since the controversial Omari Kimweri fight when he won the vacant IBF Pan Pacific light flyweight belt by a lopsided ten round unanimous decision over countryman Arnold Garde. Petalcorin was at the wrong end of highly questionable calls in his WBC Silver title fight against Kimweri in Australia. Four knockdowns were not ruled in his favor, and he lost a split decision.
