EARLY RESULTS FROM LAS VEGAS: BESPUTIN, LOPEZ, FUENTES VICTORIOUS

THOMAS & MACK CENTER, Las Vegas, NV -- Three of the preliminary bouts of the Manny Pacquiao-Jessie Vargas WBO world welterweight championship were completed here this Saturday afternoon as a fitting warming up of the expected explosive fisticuffs in the upcoming bouts which also feature the WBO world super bantamweight title fight between Nonito Donaire Jr and Jessie Vargas, the WBO world featherweight title bout between Oscar Valdez and Hiroshige Osawa and the WBO world flyweight title bout between Zou Shiming and Prasitsak Phaprom.

In a super welterweight bout for 8 rounds, Alexander Besputin (5-0-0, 5KOs) of Oxnard, California via Kamensk-Uralsky, Russia won by 4th round TKO over Azael Cosio (20-5-2, 17KOs) of Santa Marta, Panama after Cosio failed to answer the bell in the 4th round.


In a 4-round lightweight bout, Teofimo Lopez of Davie, Florida won his professional debut by knocking down Ishwar Siqueiros (3-2-1) of Tijuana, Mexico, two times en route to a second round stoppage victory. Time 2:03 of round 2.


In the opening bout of the evening for 6 rounds featherweight bout Fernando Fuentes(10-7-0, 3KOs) of Hemet, California defeated Que Xu (9-2-1, 2KOs) of Hangzhou, China by unanimous decision. Scores: 58-56, 58-56, 55-55.
