Jake Bornea (11W-1L,5KO?s) of Gen. Santos City will take on Andrew Selby (6W-0L,4KO?s) of Wales on November 18 in London for the vacant IBF Inter-continental flyweight title. This will be the first overseas stint for the 21 year old Bornea and he will be pitted against a former Olympian and a 2011 World Amateur championship silver medalist.

Selby represented the U.K. during the 2012 London Olympiad but he lost in the quarterfinals to Cuba?s Robeisy Ramirez Carranza. The 27 year old Selby turned pro in 2015 and won the British flyweight title this year by beating Louis Norman by unanimous decision.

Last April, Bornea beat Renerio Arizala and retained the WBO Asia-Pacific Youth flyweight title by unanimous decision in Gen. Santos City. Bornea had previously won the title by stopping Richard Rosales in four rounds last July 2015. Bornea is also the WBF International flyweight titlist. He has tallied five straight wins since suffering his lone career loss, by unanimous verdict against Raymund Tabugon, two years ago.

Bornea is from the Amoy Boxing stable and recently signed a promotional deal with Sanman Promotions.

?This is a big fight for Bornea. He is fighting a very good opponent, Andrew Selby, who is a former Olympian. But we are confident to bring the belt home to the Philippines.?, Sanman Promotions CEO Jim Claude Manangquil stated in his message to philboxing.

Selby vs Bornea will be held at the SSE Arena in Wembley.

Sanman Promotions also signed Jake?s twin brother Jade to a promotional contract. Jade Bornea (5W- 0L,3KO?s) has won the AIBA World Youth bronze medal and is a two-time Asian Youth gold medalist.
