SALUDAR, KAWAGUCHI AND PARADERO WIN WBO BELTS IN CDO

?Vicious? Vic Saludar beat Jimboy Haya by unanimous decision and collected another regional belt, the vacant WBO Oriental minimumweight title.

Saludar scored a knockdown in the second round and Haya was deducted a point by Referee Atty. Danrex Tapdasan, in the 7th round for intentionally carrying and taking down Saludar.

This was Saludar?s second straight win since losing his world title shot to Kosei Tanaka last December by sixth round TKO in Japan. Last April, in Gen.Santos City, he retained the WBO Asia Pacific minimumweight title by unanimous decision against Lito Dante.

The judges scores ? Edward Ligas and Roel Densing ? 119-107, Delbert Peregrino ? 118-108. Saludar is now 13-2, 9KO?s while Haya drops to his third loss at 9-3-2,6KO?s.

Shota Kawaguchi of Japan beat Rakniran Muadransarakam of Thailand by technical decision and won the interim WBO Asia Pacific super flyweight title. Kawaguchi was cut due to an accidental head butt which led to the fight being stopped in the ninth. The Japanese was ahead on the scores ? Edward Ligas, Delbert Peregrino and Roel Densing all had it 87-84.

Kawaguchi is now 20-7-1, 8KO?s while Muadransarakam got his first loss, 12-1, 8KO?s.

Robert Paradero kept his unbeaten record and captured the vacant WBO Youth Asia Pacific Youth minimumweight title by unanimous decision against Ronie Tanallon.

The scores ? Atty.Danrex Tapdasan ? 97-93, Edward Ligas and Roel Densing ? 96-94. Paradero goes up to 13-0, 8KO?s while Tanallon drops to 9-3-1, 2KO?s.

In a non-title undercard match, Raymond Yanong beat William George by TKO in the seventh round.

The fight card was held at the Baranggay Bulua Covered Court, Cagayan de Oro City. WBO VP for Asia-Pacific Leon Panoncillo supervised for the World Boxing Organization (WBO).
