BOXING SAGA AT THE WATER CUBE DAY 2

BEIJING, CHINA ? The second offering of BOXING SAGA featured ten more professional bouts with fighters competing in four weight divisions.

Lightweights Zhang Xianhai and Zhao Nan opened the show with Zhang winning by TKO after Zhao?s corner decided not to let their boxer enter the third round after getting hit by power punches in the second.

In another lightweight contest, Aikeremujiang mauled and brawled his way to a unanimous decision win over Cao Ruikun. Scores of 40-36 from Martino Redona, Surat Soikrachang and Samson Iu.

For the welterweights:

Zheng Liangyu got a unanimous verdict over Yesibolesen. Judges? scores ? Sungworn Klungboonkrung and Martino Redona ? 39-37, Wu Debing ? 40-36.

Su Cheng powered his way to a unanimous decision win over Zhang He. Scores - Edward Ligas and Luo Mei ? 39-37, Sawaeng Thaweekoon ? 40-36. This enabled Su to bounce back from his semi-final loss in the League of Fists tournament last March by majority decision against Luo Qiang.

Li Jinwei walloped to a unanimous victory against Zheng Mingliang. All three judges ? Edward Ligas, Yuan Yunzi and Sungworn Kloongboonkrung had it 39-37.

For the featherweights:

Yao Yuan earned a hard fought majority decision win over Wang Yin?gang, who was bleeding from the nose in the final round. The scores ? Martino Redona and Saweng Thaweekoon 39-37 and 40-36 respectively for Yao, Samson Iu 38-38.

Zhao Feng was impressive in disposing of He Yuzhou in 51 seconds.

For the middleweights:

Fu Jiawei stopped You Zhongsheng in the first round. Time- 1:26.

Chang Shaoheng beat Huang Lei by unanimous decision. Scores ? Martino Redona and Han Hongxiang ? 39-37, Sawaeng Thaweekoon ? 40-36.

Hou Xiqian and Yaxi?erjiang closed the show with Hou winning 39-37 on the cards of Samson Iu, Sungworn Klungboonkrung and Han Hongxiang.

The second of a back to back weekend card was held Saturday at the Multi-Functional Hall of the Water Cube, also known as the National Aquatics Center, in Beijing?s Olympic Park. The Cube is known more for hosting the swimming and diving events of the 2008 Summer Olympics.

The fight card billed as BOXING SAGA was promoted by GWTS and officiated by the Professional Boxing Commission, International.
