Mandaue City ? Promising boxers on IDOL 2 boxing event schedule on July 16 at the Mandaue City Sports Complex headed by co-main event fighter Melvin 'Gringo' Jerusalem worked out Friday afternoon at the J Center Mall here. IDOL 2 headliner Jeo 'Santino' Santisima, who will face Indonesian Junior Bajawa, was not around as he is currently in Japan for scheduled 10-day sparring session with Japanese boxers.
The undefeated Jerusalem (9-0-0, 7KO) who recently added former IBF minimumweight world champion Florante Condes to his list of victims, will face WBC international light flyweight champion Jonathan Refugio (15-4-4, 3KO) who upset highly regarded Richard Claveras (14-1-2) in his last fight to snatch the WBC belt.
Jerusalem did the mitts, shadow boxing, skipping ropes and back breaking plyometrics exercises in front of the afternoon mall crowds.
Also doing their workout routines alongside Jerusalem were Jess Rhey Waminal, Esneth Domingo, Virgel Vitor and Lawrence Ladrada.
