Manny Pacquiao, the Filipino dynamo and present day boxing hero of hundreds of thousands of boxing aficionados from the homeland and abroad finally arrived in Los Angeles last night to begin the 7 week training for his fight with Marco Antonio Barrera in October.
Today, bright and early Pacquiao started the day with a short jogging stint around his apartment at the La Brea district in Los Angeles. After a short rest and a light breakfast, Pacquiao and his trainers, Buboy Fernandez and Nonoy Neri proceeded to the Wildcard Gym to begin his official training.
Today?s training sessions consisted of all the stuff that Pacquiao does whenever he is in training except sparring. He did stretching, single and double speed bag, shadow boxing and body conditioning.
What is so amazing to see was Pacquiao is in such a good shape as ever.
?He is about 140 lbs? Neri informed this writer. ?Therefore, getting down to 130 lbs for October should not be a problem?, he added.
Pacquiao has yet to meet Freddie Roach who is presently in Sacramento with the World Cup Philippine Team. They will see each other on Friday when Roach will take a quick trip to Los Angeles to attend the Press Con on Friday at the Beverly Hills Hotel. Be that as it may, Roach is reportedly happy that the Pacquiao is finally in town.
The Pacman has landed. Let the show begin!
