OF TITLES AND WEIGHTS

As per the WBC rules, Saul ?Canelo? Alvarez has 15 days to arrive at an agreement with Gennady Golovkin and defend his WBC title against the undefeated Kazakhstan native.

According to the WBC rules, if no agreement is reached after 15 days, the WBC has the right to strip Alvarez of his title.

However, in my opinion, WBC President Sulaiman does not have the guts to do that. He will never strip Canelo of his title for two reasons. One - Canelo brings lots of pride to Mexico thus Sulaiman won?t dare go against that, even at the expense of the rules his late father helped create. He will find all sorts of reasons to circumvent the WBC rules just so to keep Canelo happy. For sure, Sulaiman will gladly give an ?extension? so K2 and GBP to have more time to ?negotiate?. Second, Canelo brings plenty of cash to the WBC through sanction fees. Do you think Sulaiman will let go his goose that lays the golden eggs?

That I have to see!

On the other side of the coin, after the fight Saturday night, Canelo, in the euphoria of his victory against a smaller and bloated Amir Khan, mentioned that he is not afraid of Golovkin and that he is willing to fight him now. That of course is a different tune. He did not mention that directly before.

But he may want Golovkin to dry out and fight at a catch weight of 155 lbs!

Hey, Canelo, the division calls for 160 lbs. remember? Why try and cheat by insisting on fighting at 155 lbs? True champions respect the true weight designation for a division. They don?t f*** around and demand that their opponents go down in weight and fight at less than the designated weight!

You are a good fighter, so why worry about the weight? Why satisfy yourself with winning a hollow victory again just like you did with the Khan fight. There is no glory in knocking out a smaller and a bloated opponent, much less getting a win by forcing an opponent to dry out!

Where is your Mexican bravado?

I thought you said you have balls, and even dared folks to touch them to prove that you have them.

So prove to your fans that you are for real. You will fight anyone at 160 lbs including your mandatory challenger, Gennady Govovkin.

We are aware that Golden Boy Promotions will want to ?marinate? this fight for 2017. But if you are really the Mexican warrior you said you are and that you will fight for honor and glory and not the money, why not tell your promoter to set up the fight for September, the other major Mexican holiday that is on the books.

Be independent and celebrate Mexican Independence by insisting on the fight.

The fight can happen in September if you really want it. There is no other hindrance except you agreeing to fight at 160 lbs.

Prove to us that Mexicans don?t f*** around. Are you game?
