Two up and coming boxers from the Sanman Gym of Gen. Santos City will be risking their undefeated records on the road this May 6.
Rimar Metuda (10W-0L,5KO?s) will go up against Russian Mark Urvanov (6W-1L,3KO?s) while Romero Duno (9-0,8KO?s) will be pitted against undefeated Russian, Mikhail Alexeev (7-0,3KO?s).
The 22 year old Metuda was supposed to fight for a WBA Oceania title in China last February but the bout against a Chinese boxer somehow fell through. He would see action in March and win by second round knockout against Joel Hecotibo in T'Boli,South Cotabato.
Last year, Metuda took the vacant WBF Asia Pacific featherweight title with a 5th round TKO win over Jason Tinampay in Gensan.
The 19 year old Urvanov?s only loss was courtesy of Duno?s opponent, Alexeev, during their pro debuts. Last February 27, Urvanov won by a unanimous decision over Alexey Shorokhov to pocket the Russia featherweight title.
Metuda vs Urvanov will be for the vacant WBO Youth Intercontinental featherweight title.
The 20 year old Duno has scored abbreviated wins in his last seven fights. Alexeev, also 20 years old, stopped his last two opponents.
Duno vs Alexeev will be for the vacant WBO youth super featherweight crown.
The fights will take place at the DIVS in Ekaterinburg, Russia and promoted by German Titov.
?Both of them are fighting young and talented Russian fighters,? Sanman Promotions chief executive officer Jim Claude ?JC? Manangquil told philboxing in his e-mail, ?The fights are very evenly matched. But we are hoping both Duno and Metuda will bring home the belts. They have been training already for six weeks and both are in good condition. They will leave for Russia on April 30 together with their manager Dexter ?Wangyu? Tan, the chief finance officer of Sanman.?
