CEBU CITY ? Undefeated Australian Paul '2 Gunz' Fleming who is fighting Mexican Miguel Angel 'Ranita' Gonzalez for the WBC Continental Americas super featherweight title this Saturday at the Cebu City Sports Center in the co-main event of the Nonito Donaire vs Zsolt Bedak WBO super bantamweight world title championship, said that Gonzalez will get a boxing lesson from him.

?That's for sure,? Fleming, who was very relaxed and articulate during his dinner with local scribes Wednesday night at The Social Sports Bar located at the plush Ayala Center Mall, said.

Fleming, a southpaw and at 5'9? has an advantage in height and reach in his weight category, is proud and has great faith in his boxing abilities. ?Who in their right mind will want to fight a smooth moving southpaw?? Fleming, who idolized and emulate the great speedster and southpaw Pernell Whitaker, asked and added that his great boxing skill will befuddle the Mexican come Saturday night.

However, Fleming (21-0-0, 14KO) said he expected Gonzalez (22-7-1, 12KO), like all Mexicans, will come to fight. ?Mexicans don't come to lie down. They come to win. Just like Filipino fighters, they have strong big heart. I expect him to come and I expect him to make the fight hard and I expect him to fight like a true Mexican, but I don't think he has fought someone with the ability of me,? Fleming said.

Fleming also informed that he has not seen much of Gonzalez but leave it to his trainer Billy Hussein to formulate the strategy how to approach the fight.

Miguel Angel 'Ranita' Gonzalez (L) works out at the SM City Cebu Tuesday.

Fleming, who fought in the Beijing Olympics in 2008, was signed by Top Rank straight from the amateurs. ?I was the only second Australian who was signed by a major promotional company straight from the amateurs. The other was Robbie Piden,? Fleming informed.

Among his notable fights were against Juan Jose Beltran of Mexico on July 9, 2011 on the undercard of Rios-Antillon at the Home Depot (now StubHub) in Carson, California where he won by 1st round knockout and against Ryusei Yoshida of Japan on the inaugural Macau card headlined by Zou Shiming where Fleming also stopped the Japanese in the 4th round. Fleming captured the WBO Asia Pacific super featherweight title with a unanimous decision win over Chaiyong Sithsaithong of Thailand on March 28, 2015 in Mansfield, Australia.

Upon being told that Gonzalez was soliciting for the Cebuano fans' support, Fleming, who arrived in Cebu Tuesday night, said that fans should be supporting him because he's also Asian, his mother being half Malaysian and he being an Australian aborigine.

?Yeah, they should support me because I'm Asian,? Fleming said. ?It's a real honor fighting in the co-main event with Nonito Donaire and I'm very grateful with Top Rank on that. I heard more 20,000 fans will be watching the fight, I promise them they will enjoy my fight with Gonzalez,? Fleming said.
