CEBU CITY ? Chris Avalos's manager Mike Criscio has an emphatic message to Team Magsayo for asking a fight with veteran Chris Avalos who already fought for a world title and had faced some of the toughest fighters of the featherweight division: ?They will regret why they asked for this fight.? Avalos and Mark 'Magnifico? Magsayo will fight this Saturday for the WBO featherweight international title at the Cebu City Sports Center on the undercard of the Donaire-Bedak WBO super bantamweight world title fight.

?This is a fight between a man a boy,? Criscio added. Team Avalos, which includes Chris's father/trainer Felipe, mother Patty, brother Jessie and Shaun Avalos arrived in Cebu Monday where they faced the local scribes at the Golden Prince Hotel at noon.

Avalos, 26, has already 30 professional fights in his resume, winning 26 an losing 4 with 19 knockouts while Magsayo, 20, although undefeated, has only 13 professional fights so far.

Avalos fought for the IBF super bantamweight title against Carl 'The Jackal' Frampton on Feb. 28, 2015 where he lost by 5th round knockout. He has also fought but lost against top oppositions in Jhonatan Romero (29-1-0, 15KO) of Columbia and Oscar Valdez (19-0-0, 17KO) of Mexico.

?We don't like to make excuses,? Criscio said. ?But I'll have to say it anyway because Chris won't. Chris was not one hundred percent in those loses because he had injuries before those fights. This fight however, the old Chris is back and you will see it this Saturday.?

Avalos said he has seen the fights of Magsayo and they have a plan how to defeat the young phenom. ?We have a plan. We studied his moves and I'm and sure he has too,? Avalos said. ?But we have prepared hard for this fight. This is a good fight and we are confident of winning. I have not come here to be a stepping stone,? Avalos added.

Avalos, together with Donaire's opponent Zsolt Bedak, will have a public workout at the Ayala Activity Center Monday afternoon as the fight week activities for the highly anticipated event this Saturday heat up.
