The 29th convention of the premier world boxing body the World Boxing Organization (WBO) has been slated on Oct. 17 to 21 at the Caribe Hilton Hotel in San Juan, Puerto Rico, the WBO secretariat has informed Philboxing.

WBO president Francisco 'Paco' Valcarcel has advised delegates to prepare early and have their US documentation in order so as not to miss this important event especially as the WBO will have its election this year.

?It?s time for elections again. It?s important that anyone who needs proper documentation to enter the United States do so early or you risk not being in attendance during this very special event,? Valcarcel wrote in his letter sent to delegates.

Expected activities during the convention, aside the elections, are a golf tournament, general assembly, the annual reports from regional Vice Presidents which regularly became the highlight of past conventions owning to the rapid expansion of the WBO in all corners of the globe, Referees and Judges seminars, Championship and Ratings Committees general discussion, Awards and Recognition and its highly anticipated Gala Dinner on the convention's final night that usually brings together under one roof the biggest names in the boxing industry inside and outside the ring.

Those who want to join the golf tournament will need to arrive a day earlier on Sunday, Oct. 16.
