LEAGUE OF FISTS: BANTAM SEMIS AND SEASON TWO MATCHES

SHANGHAI, CHINA - Yelieqiati relied on his slick boxing skills to outpoint and outhustle Gao Jiyang to win their bantamweight semi-final bout by unanimous decision.
This was a repeat of his unanimous win during the opening day of the League of Fists Tournament. Gao worked his way back to the semis with a 3W-1D record in his next four bouts. Yelieqiati is now 7-0-1, 1KO.
The scores ? Mekin Sumon ? 60-56,Atty.Danrex Tapdasan ? 59-55, Sungworn Klongboonkrong ? 58-56.
Yelieqiati will have to wait however, for his opponent in the finals. In the other season one bantamweight semi-finals match-up, Xie Zhiquan and Ji Tao battled to a majority draw.
It was a back and forth struggle with Ji having to fight through blood from the fourth round onwards after a clash of heads inflicted a cut on the outer corner of his right eyebrow.
The scores ? Mekin Sumon and Sungworn Klongboonkrong ? 57-57,Surat Soikrachang ? 58-56 for Xie.
For the season two bouts:
Super flyweights Su Yinchuan and Zhao Jun fought to a split draw. Zhao finished with a small cut on the eyebrow and hematoma below the right eye.
Scores ? Yang Hong ? 40-36 (Zhao), Tao Zhendong ? 38-38, Yin Haiyang ? 39-37.
Abumiinhe beat Zhang Jian by TKO at the start of the third round in their super flyweight match-up after Zhang sinalled that he was too tired to enter the third round.
Liu Wenkang prevailed by split verdict over Yang Qiaosheng in their super flyweight bout. Yang suffered a knockdown in round one. Scores ? Han Hongxiang and Yan Wenyong ? 38-37 for Liu, Zhao Yanfang ? 38-37 for Yang.
Bayinmandufu also won a split decision over Quan Han Zhi in a super lightweight match-up. Scores ? Yang Hong and Zhao Yubin 39-37, Cao Hengxiang ? 37-39.
Wang Jianjing stopped Qian Shenglong in the second round. Qian started to get up from a knockdown but turned his back as Referee Mekin Sumon ended his ten count.
Peng Chao soundly outboxed and outfought Huang Yunshan for a unanimous decision win. Mekin Sumon, Surat Soikrachang and Atty. Danrex Tapdasan all had it at 40-36.
The League of Fists boxing tournament is promoted by SECA and TOP RANK. Friday?s bouts were held in Star Space in Shanghai and supervised by the Professional Boxing Commission of China (PBCC). The winners in the season one finals will be crowned WBO Greater China champions.
