
'WHO'S NEXT' BOXING SERIES ALL SET FOR MARCH 6 FISTICUFFS AT ROBINSON'S GALLERIA (PHOTOS)

CEBU CITY ? The search continues for the next batch of Filipino boxing stars and Omega Pro-Sports International's 'Who's Next' series is all set to make its initial free-to-the-public offering this Sunday, March 6 at Cebu's Robinson's Galleria. During Friday's final press conference held at the Galleria, undefeated super bantamweight prospect Jack Tepora (16-0-0, 11KO) and his opponent Jason Tinampay (7-2-0, 6KO), fighting for the WBO Youth Asia-Pacific title on the main draw, met face to face, each appeared confident of winning.
?I've trained hard for this fight,? Tepora, from Liloan, whose last outing was a unanimous decision win against Andrew Palas on Jan. 9 in Borbon, Cebu, said. ?I'm confident of winning this fight,? Tepora, a multi-titled amateur, added.
For his part, Tinampay, from Bohol, was unfazed and said, ?I know my opponent is undefeated, but I'll try my best to win this fight.?
On the main undercard, Vergilio Silvano (20-6-1, 12KO) of Dalaguete, will face Fernando Ocon (13-10-1, 5KO) of Cebu City. Silvano said he wants to have an impressive performance against Ocon to entertain the fans. Ocon, who had the distinction of guiding Marlon Tapales beat Japanese Shohei Omori in his first foray as a trainer, said ?I'll fight or I'll train boxers [to support] my family, whatever it takes to support my family, I'll do it.?
Also appearing on the card are Mark Vicelles vs Ronald Cajes, Ar-ar Borbon vs Russel Rosales, Allan Villanueva vs Mac-mac Baribar, Fil-jun Taneo vs Anthony Galigao and Jerry Castroverde vs Ryan Quimbo.
The Friday presscon was hosted by Omega Pro-Sports vice-president Chad Ca?ares together with Robinson Galleria's Joanna Salazar and Hyundai Cebu executive Kenneth Tan, one of the event sponsors.
The weighin will be held Saturday, also at the Galleria, starting at 11 a.m.
