Nonito Donaire Sr. has informed a few minutes ago that the Donaire family will be leaving for Manila and points south to share the victory of his son Nonito with his Filipino fans.
“You just missed him” Donaire Sr. said when I spoke to him on the phone today. “He went to meet with people from Nike who are planning to set up an endorsement deal with the new IBF flyweight champion.”
Nonito Sr. also indicated that his son was really pretty happy that they came down to LA to train for a week at the Wildcard Gym and also to get a new mouthguard done by our offices.
“He was so comfortable with the mouthguard you made and he had no breathing problems whatsoever.” he added.
Nonito Donaire, Jr. (R) shows his mouthguard specially fitted for him by Dr. Ed de la Vega (L).
Nonito Sr. and the whole Donaire team is now evaluating the many offers that are now flooding to them regarding the future of the new champion. “We will look at each offer and see which one is the best in every aspect before we will decide as to who Nonito will fight next. I will make sure you will be informed when that happens,” he said.
