
PAGARA, MAGSAYO WOW CROWD DURING PUBLIC SPARRING

MANDAUE CITY ? A sizable early Saturday evening crowd at the Insular Square Mall here was treated to a world class boxing show when ALA GYM's rising stars 'Prince' Albert Pagara and Mark 'Magnifico' Magsayo each held a 3-round sparring session in preparation for their upcoming fights as the duo will headline 'Pinoy Pride 35: Stars of the Future' on Feb. 27 at the Waterfront Hotel in Cebu City.
Pagara, who will face Yesner Talavera of Nicaragua for the WBO Intercontinental Jr Featherweight title, showed crisp and sharp combinations when he sparred against undefeated lightweight Arjan Canillas while Magsayo, who will take on Eduardo 'Fierita' Montoya of Mexico for the WBO Youth Featherweight title, dazzled the crowd with his display of fast footwork and quick combinations against super lightweight Elmo 'Bisdak' Traya who himself will fight on the Feb. 27 card against Romeo 'Jako' Jakosalem in an 8-round super lightweight bout.

Other fighters featured on 'Pinoy Pride 35' also sparred for two rounds each allowing the crowd first hand opportunity to witness potential boxing stars in action.
Multi-titled amateur and hot flyweight prospect Kevin 'Jake' Cataraja, whose final opponent is said to be a Mexican, sparred with Raul Yu; Melvin Jerusalem who will face former world champion Florante Condes, sparred with undefeated Chris Ganoza; Jeo Santisima who will have a tough assignment against slugger Marco Demecillo, sparred with JR Waminal; Singapore amateur standout Muhammad Radwin who fights in his first ALA card against Melchor Roda, sparred with Jimmy Paypa and Esneth Domingo who will face Vic Ejercito, sparred with Christian Bacolod.
The crowd was also treated to a 5-bout amateur contest before the sparring sessions featuring fighters from UV Boxing Club, Phil-Aust Boxing Club and Cabangcalan High School.
