Nelson Tinampay (9W-1L,4KO?s) of Bohol will fight Jonel Gadapan (10W-8L-2D,6KO?s) for the vacant World Boxing Federation (WBF) Asia Pacific lightweight title in Iligan City this January 31.

Tinampay started his career with 6W-1D before suffering his first loss against the experienced journeyman Rodel Wenceslao of Cebu in 2014. Tinampay has since bounced back with victories against William George and Richard Betos last year.

Gadapan, who is from Iligan City, has fought on the road in Thailand, Mexico and Japan. In 2014, he registered a TKO victory in Japan against Yuji Itani. Gadapan?s last fight was in November, a first round TKO win over Roland Teofilo.
