Donnie Nietes extended his reign further during the second half of the year. Nonito Donaire saved the best for last with a ?Fight of the Year? candidate and another world title belt.

June 27 ? Johnriel Casimero L UD 12 Amnat Ruenroeng (Thailand), IBF flyweight title, Bangkok, Thailand.

July 4 ? Warlito Parrenas vs David Carmona (Mexico) ends in a split draw, vacant WBO interim superflyweight title, Hermosillo,Sonora, Mexico.

July 11 ?Donnie Nietes W UD12 Francisco Rodriguez (Mexico), retains WBO/Ring junior flyweight world titles, Waterfront Cebu City Hotel and Casino

July 18 ? Arthur Villanueva LTD 10 McJoe Arroyo (Puerto Rico), vacant IBF superflyweight title, El Paso, Texas.

August 26 ? The Philippines? Bureau of Customs bills Filipina light flyweight boxer Jujeath Nagaowa 5,819 pesos for the WIBA International title belt she won in Macau.

September 9 ? A report by Thomas Hauser on the website SBNation states that Floyd Mayweather took an intravenous injection of saline and vitamins that was banned under the guidelines of the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) the day before he fought Manny Pacquiao.

September 11 ? Australian boxer David Browne,Jr. hospitalized and placed on life support after being knocked out by Filipino Carlo Magali in the 12th round of their fight held in Ingleburn, New South Wales, Australia. Browne passed away three days later.

October 5- Pacquiao formally announces his bid for a seat in the Philippine Senate in 2016

October 11 - Rogen Ladon wins bronze medal in the AIBA World Boxing Championships held in Qatar but misses outright berth for the 2016 Rio Olympics.

October 14 - Pacquiao receives the 2015 Asia Game Changer Award in New York for his achievements as a philanthropist, boxer and lawmaker.

October 17 ? Roman Gonzalez (Nicaragua) W TKO 9 Brian Viloria , WBC/Ring lineal flyweight titles, Madison Square Garden, New York.

October 17 ? ALA Promotions stages first fight card on U.S. soil. Donnie Nietes W UD 12 Juan Alejo (Mexico), retains WBO/Ring junior flyweight titles, StubHub Center, Carson, California.

December 11 ?Nonito Donaire W UD 12 Cesar Juarez (Mexico) , wins vacant WBO super bantamweight title in San Juan, Puerto Rico

December 19 ? Nao Ikeyama (Japan) W UD10 Jujeath Nagaowa, WBO female atomweight world title, Colombo, Sri Lanka. This fight was the main event in a historic first ever professional boxing promotion held in Sri Lanka.

December 29 ? Naoya Inoue (Japan) W TKO 2 Warlito Parrenas, WBO superflyweight title, Tokyo, Japan.

December 30 ? Top Rank announced that Manny Pacquiao will fight Timothy Bradley for a third time on April 9, 2016

December 31 ? Kosei Tanaka (Japan) WKO6 Vic Saludar, WBO minimumweight title, Nagoya, Japan.

LOOKING FORWARD:

We may have lost more than we have won but we have more contenders waiting in the wings .

Bantamweight Marlon Tapales earned a shot at the WBO world title currently held by Thai Pungluang Sor Singyu after stopping Shohei Omori of Japan in two rounds in Kyoto in their WBO bantamweight eliminator two weeks ago.

Manny Pacquiao returning to the ring will generate a lot of media mileage for the sport of boxing here in the Philippines but what about his political plans?

Fans are also expecting Nonito Donaire to fight again on Philippine soil and Donnie Nietes stretching his rule as the longest reigning Filipino world titlist.
