Los Angeles, CA:- Putting up a boxing promotion in California or anywhere else for that matter where familiarity of the system that exists is always a challenge for those that do all the legwork to get things done.

In fact, it is actually very difficult. There are many hurdles that needs to be overcome such as dealing with the State Athletic Commission to assure compliance with the regulations, arranging for the venues where the different activities leading to the fight day will be held, connecting to the media whose help is vital to the success of the event and selling the tickets.

Such are the challenges of the folks at the ALA Promotions who are in LA.

Therefore, it was not until today (Tuesday-LA Time) when the final fight week schedule was released.

Normally, seasoned promoters in the State get all the above done, plus many other necessities to round out the event at least a week before the big day. But that does not mean they will not run into problematic issues on fight day. For example, I have seen fight cards in the State delayed because there was only one set of paramedics and one ambulance in the venue. Thus, if the paramedics and the ambulance were put to work to address injuries in the ring, the next fight had to wait until another ambulance with crew arrives. If that fight happens to be on live TV, one can only imagine all the repercussions of the delay.

To their credit however, the three young ladies who were put in charge of all the above led by Jeana Alvarez, the Director of ALA Boxing Operations and Events, and ably supported by Chelna and Lucille went beyond their comfort zone to get things done the best way they could.

?We are aware that we will have plenty of challenges as this is our first promotions here and we are still learning the intricacies of putting up an event here,? Chelna stated when we talked to her at the media day for the ALA Boys. ?We are doing our best to address issues as they come up,? she added

Today, all their good work finally came together and they were able to finally release the schedule for the rest of the week until fight day. A little late but none-the-less done! With that most of the hard work is finished. Only the final touching up of details to implement the game plan remains to be given attention..

That in itself is already a great accomplishment and we salute the young ladies for a job well done. I can hardly wait to tell Michael Aldeguer and his dad, Don Antonio, how great it is for their company to have such a hardworking crew. But they may already know that, therefore the trio was picked for the assignment.

A handsome bonus for these ladies will be an icing on the cake, but then again I don?t make those decisions. The best I can do is drop a hint!

PS: Kudos to former WBC flyweight world champion, Rodel Mayol who is the tireless ?Uber? person for the ALA crew. Mabuhay ka champ!
