
LEAGUE OF FISTS ENTERS SECOND ROUND

SHANGHAI,CHINA ? Bruising brawls highlighted the second phase of matches for the League of Fists at the Mixing Room of the Mercedes Benz Arena Friday night.
The most thrilling fight of the evening was between super welterweights Alimu Tuerson and Huang Juxiang. Tuerson started strong and unloaded heavy shots but Huang managed to hang on and fire back. They exchanged well placed volleys throughout the four rounds. Despite a hematoma forming under Huang?s left eye, he managed to press the action in the last two rounds. The judges? scores read ? Surat Soikrachang ? 39-37, Han Hongxiang ? 37-39 and Mekin Sumon ? 38-38 for a split draw.
Another competitive slam-bang scrap was between superlightweights Zhang Xianhai and Lin Guoji with Zhang prevailing by majority decision. Scores ? Yang Hong -38-38, Feng Yao Cheng and Sungworn Klungboonkrung had it 39-37 for Zhang.
There were a total of ten bouts on hand ranging from 118 to 154 lb weight categories. The night was opened by Peng Chao surprising Sun Bohao with a knockdown in the first round; Peng would go on to cruise to a unanimous decision win. Judges Mekin Sumo, Yang Hong and Feng Yao Chen all had it 40-35.
Feng Yong stopped Zhao Nan in the third round. Zhao was receiving hard punches with his back to the ropes at the end of the second round before the bell sounded and was receiving more punches in the third round prompting Referee Han Hongxiang to stop the bout at the 1:50 mark.
Aizi Aili beat Ruan Yubo by TKO in the second round. Aizi was landing a series of unanswered punches and referee Sungown Klungboonkrung called a halt to the bout. Yeerduosi Jieensi won by majority decision over Zhou Yunfeng. The scorecards read ? Tao Zhendong ? 40-36, Surat Soikrachang ? 39-37 and Zhao Yubin -38-38.
Entertaining southpaw Yelieqiati Nihemaituola used his cat-quick reflexes and counterpunching to prevail by unanimous decision over Lu Chenan. Scores ? Feng Yao Cheng and Yang Hong had it 40-36, Zhao Yubin scored it 39-37. Yelieqiati now has two wins in the tournament and is 4-0 in his career.
Su Cheng decked Li Baolin in the opening round. Li got up but was on unsteady legs which led to Referee Han Hongxiang stopping the bout at the 1:45 mark. Su is now 4W-0L-1 NC, 4 KO?s.
Despite a cut on his left eyelid, Lin Liquan had no trouble winning by unanimous decision over Zhao Jun. Lin scored 40-36 on the scorecards of Yang Hong, Tao Zhendong and Feng Yaocheng. Xie Zhiquan won by unanimous decision over Yang Zhengpeng by scores of 40-36 from Tao Zhendong, Han Hongxiang and Mekin Sumon.
The League of Fists is a professional boxing competition and ranking tournament involving fighters from mainland China made possible by the partnership of TOP RANK and SECA. The event is supported by the World Boxing Organization (WBO) and officiated by the Professional Boxing Commission (PBC) of China. The league is geared towards searching for new talent and stars and the crowning of an all-China champion.
The next fight date is on October 10 still at the Mercedes Benz Arena.
