For the first time ever, the local Southern California boxing media will have an opportunity to witness and see first-hand what Filipinos are capable of doing in the international boxing seen.
ALA Promotions in cooperation with their TV partners, the giant ABS-CBN TV Network from the Philippines, announced the first presscon for the coming big event dubbed as ?Philippines vs the World? at the Stub Hub Sport Complex in Carson, California on October 17, 2015.
The presscon is scheduled on Friday Sept 25th at the Maximo Room of the Max?s Restaurant in Glendale, CA. The event starts at noon with a traditional Filipino lunch followed by questions and answers at 1 PM.
Distinguished guests coming to the event are ALA President and CEO, Michael Aldeguer, ABS CBN North America Marketing head, Jun del Rosario, and Ad Sales head, Ricky Resurreccion. The boxers on the fight card will also be there together with their trainer Edito Villamor.
The huge fight card will be the first time ALA Promotions and ABS-CBN have partnered to put up a boxing promotion in the USA. Headlining the fight card will be Donnie Nietes the WBO World Jr Flyweight champion and the longest reigning Filipino boxing champion. Nietes will defend his crown against Juan ?Pinky? Alejo of Mexico.
Also in the fight card are the fast rising Pagara brothers, Jason and Albert. Albert will be facing Santos Benavides who has a record of 25-7-2, 19KO. Jason will exchange leather with William ?Chirizo? Gonzales, 27-5-0, 23 KO.
Another Pinoy prospect Mark Magsayo will battle Yardley Suarez who sports 8 KOs in his 13 wins.
Media folks from SoCal will also have an opportunity to talk to the boxers one on one.
