Early today, former WBC world flyweight champion, Rodel Mayol sent me a text informing me that Fernando ?Trigger? Lumacad (31-9-3, 14KO), whose fight record outside of the Philippines stands at 2 wins and 4 loses, will be fighting tomorrow night, September 8, at the Hollywood Palladium. The venue was in the olds days the ?in? place to be for live shows and parties, but lately has been relegated to the back burner.
Getting the news from Mayol regarding Lumacad was quiet startling to say the least.
Lumacad apparently it seems is still chasing his dreams in spite of the fact that odds as he gets older coupled by his diminishing relevance in the fight business seems to be getting further out of reach.
Lumacad is set to face Alexis Santiago (18-3-1, 8KO) the current WBO NABO bantamweight titleholder but there is no confirmation that Santiago?s title will be at stake.
The Lumacad-Santiago fight is one of the undercard fights featuring Austin Trout (29-2-0, 16KO) versus Joey Hernandez 24-3-1, 14KO) under the promotions of Premier Boxing Champions. It will shown live on FOXSports1.
