LOS ANGELES -- Today, reports coming out of New York indicate that both Bobby Pacquiao and Humberto Soto weight in at a sizzling 131 lbs. for the big fight on Saturday. Thus, based on weight, the fight is even.

Arum sure wished it ain’t so. In all probability, he wishes Soto would be up somewhat to assure that his other Pacquiao plan will happen and make things a lot easier for his promotional outfit.

Saturday’s big rumble between the two super featherweights is for Soto to win. Soto must win and win in a huge way for him to even dream of facing the Pacman in October.

But it seems more and more apparent, regardless how he wins, as long as he gets that W from Bobby Pacquiao, Soto is a sure bet to meet the Pacman.

Bob Arum planned it that way! And, he already has the “revenge angle” all designed and ready to go.

Numerous boxing fans however are hoping for a different turn out. They are hoping Bobby Pacquiao with the reported $150,000 purse he will be getting, will put up a performance much like what he did when he fought Kevin Kelly on the same venue sometime last year.

If anything else, it will make the Manny Pacquiao saga even more exciting and eliminate another pretender to the Pacman’s list of possible opponents.

It will also make the Golden Boy-Top Rank issue a wee bit more exciting and perhaps even more explosive.

After all, such is the fight business.
