'VICTORY IN MACAO' UNDERCARD RESULTS: TSO, NG REGISTER KNOCKOUT WINS

CotaiArena, The Venetian Macao -- Local favorites Rex Tso of Hong Kong and Kuok Kuk Ng of Macau (pictured above) scored impressive knockout victories in the undercard of the Ik Yang-Cesar Cuenca IBF junior welterweight title fight Saturday evening here.
In the 3rd match of the evening, Hong Kong warrior Rex 'The Wonder Kid' Tso displaying controlled aggression, dominated Thai opponent Khunkhiri Wisaruth (21-11-1, 13KO) over four rounds in their 8-round scheduled super flyweight bout. Always a crowd-pleaser, Tso cornered Wisaruth in the neutral corner in the fourth round and threw and scored with his patented combinations that put the Thai in the defensive. Tso cornered Wisaruth again in other corner of the ring and peppered the hapless Thai with combinations until the Japanese referee saw enough of the punishment and stopped the contest at 2:55 of the fourth round for a TKO victory by Tso. Tso now improves his undefeated record to 17 wins with 10 knockouts while Wisaruth dropped to 21-11-1.
2nd bout ? A huge Chinese crowd reacted to every punch that hit the target by local boy Kuok Kun Ng (8-0-0, 4KO) against the game Phompetch Twins Gym (6-3-0, 3KO) that saw Ng stopped the Thai in the 4th round of their 6-round scheduled welterweigh bout. A couple of right uppercuts sent the Phompetch to the canvas for the first time in the fourth round. Another big right uppercut by the undefeated Ng moments later sent the Thai to the canvas again where the referee didn't bother to count. Time of stoppage was at 2:02 in round 4.
Qu Peng (R) throws a right on Nimwegen. Qu Peng wins by unanimous decision over Nimwegen.
In the opening bout, Qu Peng (8-1-1, 5KO) from Da Lina, China won by unanimous decision over Michael Van Nimwegen (7-4, 4KO) of Australia. Displaying good boxing skills, Qu Peng peppered Nimwegen with 1-2 combinations in the first two rounds but Nimwegen put on the pressure in the middle rounds to get back into the fight, along the way inflicted a cut on Qu Peng's right eye brow. Qu Peng, however finished strong in the last round to get the nod of the judges. Scores: 58-56 all in favor of Qu Peng.
4th bout ? Former Olympian and undefeated junior welterweight prospect Jose Ramirez (15-0-0, 12KO) of Avenal, CA, won by TKO over Ryusei Yoshida (26-8-0, 13KO) of Kunamoto, Japan in their 8-round junior welterweight scheduled contest. Using an effective left jab and good distance, Ramirez controlled and brought the fight to Yoshida who was not able to solve Ramirez's aggression. Towards the end of the 3rd round Ramirez tagged Yoshida with solid lefts and rights. Towards the break, Yoshida's corner told Referee Saeweng that their fighter could no longer continue for a TKO victory by Ramirez.
