JOSE FELIX JR BEATS YAKUBU AMIDU ON SOLO BOXEO

Hollywood, CA: Top Rank Promotions in association with Thompson Boxing, Art of Boxing Promotions and Bash Boxing tonight held an 8 fight card at the Florentine Gardens in this City and shown live on SoloBoxeo Tecate Unimas.

In the main event (top photo), Super lightweight contender, Jose Felix Jr (30-1-1, 24KO) of Los Mochis, Mexico fought Yakubu Amidu (21-7-2, 19KO) of Los Angeles in a see-saw battle that saw both fighters knocked down in round 9.

Felix however got the judges? nod by his over-all control of the ring early on the fight and appeared to be still in control as the bell sounded the end of the fight.

The scores after 10 hard ought exchanges were 97-93, 97-93 and 98-92 all for Felix Jr.



In the supporting main event (above photo), Carlos Carlson (17-1-0,11KO) fought and beat a fellow native of Tijuana, Mexico, Heriberto Delgado (11-3-0-6KO). Carlson drops Delgado twice in round 4 ending the fight at 1:43 of the round.

Other results:


Zsolt Daranyi of far away Toronto, Canada (4-0-0,4KO) kept his record clean via a first round KO over Antonio Neal of Granger, CA (3-3-0,3KO). Time was: 2:12.


Oleksander Gvozdyi of Kharkiv, Ukraine (6-0-0,4KO wins by unanimous decision over Michael Gbenga of Baltimore, Maryland. (16-21-0,16KO) Scores were all 60-54.


Leonardo Chavez of Los Angeles (3-1-0,3KO) drops Michael Constantino of Compton, CA ( 0-1-0) 39 seconds in first round to end the curtain raiser.


Israel Duffus of Los Angeles (8-3-0 7KO) beat and bloodied Carlos Reyes of Sarasota, Florida (7-8-1,5KO) beginning in round 1 when he dropped him for an 8 count and cut his upper left eyebrow that bled all throughout the 6 round fight. The cut man of Reyes appeared ill-prepared to manage the cut and it hampered Reyes. But that did not stop him from fighting like it was his last fight until he was dropped by a brutal right hook 1:19 of round 6 and the fight ended.


Murat Gassiev of Vladkavkaz, Russia ( 22-0-,0,16KO) took less than two round to stop Rodney Moore of Houston, Tx (17-10-2,7KO) Time of stoppage: 1:55 round 2.


In the final fight of the evening, Cem Kilic of Los Angeles (4-0-0-,2KO) pulled a Mayweather-Ortiz like right cross that tagged Cole Milani of Klamat Falls, Oregon ( 2-5-0,0KO) at the opening seconds of round one. The Milani never recovered from that hit and finally was stopped at 1:13 of the round.
