WEIGHTS FROM DALI

DALI,YUNNAN, CHINA - Fight fans in the city of Dali will be treated to a professional boxing card this Saturday May 23. This eight bout card will showcase up and coming boxers from China as well as female fighters who will be contesting for a WBC belt.

An added attraction are two local heavyweights ? Cheng Yong Yang and Wu Zhi Yu. During the official weigh-in held Friday afternoon Cheng was at 113.5 kgs (250lbs 3oz) while Wu weighed 107.5kgs (236lbs15oz).

For the boxers vying for the WBC female China title ? Jin Shi of China stepped on the scales at 59.6kgs (131lbs 6oz) and her opponent, Pantina Kaewmahosod of Thailand was at 59kgs (130lbs 1oz).

For the other match-ups between the Chinese fighters ? Chen Zhi Jun (58.1kgs) vs Su Shi Long (59kgs) ? 6 rounds, Pan Jun (57.1kgs) vs Fu Dong Zheng (56.4kgs) ? 4 rounds, Ye Rong Cheng (60.6kgs) vs Lin Li Quan (61.3kgs) ? 4 rounds, Alimu Tuerson (68.3kgs) vs Yangguan Nan (67.7kgs) ? 4 rounds, Jiang Chang Jian (57.1kgs) vs Li Le Shan (58.6kgs)- 4 rounds, and Xu Run Long vs Zhou Jia Lun, both at 51.8kgs ? 4 rounds.

The official weigh-in was held at the Jinsha Peninsula Hotel and supervised by the Professional Boxing Commission (PBC) of China. The PBC officials also had an orientation and refresher for their judges and referees after the weigh-in.

The card billed as Fight in Dali is promoted by Li Jian Wei of Yunnan Weiling Sports Service Co.
