
UNDERCARD RESULTS FROM CARSON

CARSON, CA -- Below are the results of the undercard fights on the Julio Cesar Chavez Jr vs Andrezj Fonfara on Showtime Championship Boxing Saturday at the StubHub Center here:
For the firts time this afternoon, two well matched fighter mixes it up in the ring (top photo). Fernando Guerrero of Santo Domingo, DR (27-3-0-19KO ) fought a hard fought 10 rounds against Abraham Han of El Paso, Texas, (23-3,-0, 14 KO). Han dropped Guerrero early in round one, a flash KD that Guerrero managed to shake off and made the fight a 10 round affair. Nothing significant happened the rest of the fight, nothing that would excite the crowd other than occasional exchanges at ring center.
In the end, the guys that apparently landed the most telling blows, Fernando Guerrero was declared the winner. The scores were 98-98, 96-94 and 95-94.
The crowd disagreed and booed the judges.
Fifth fight: Jordan Shimwell of Sheboygan, WI (19-0-0,16KO) stops Carlos Reyes of Kuarny, Arizona (7-7-1, 5KO). Referee upon advice of the corner man of Reyes stops the fight at the end of round of 5.
Fourth Fight: Tugstsogot Nyambayar of WaamBatar, Mongolia (2-0-0, 2KO) KO'd Manuel Rubalcava of Nue3vo Laredo, MX at 1:39 of round 1 and finally woke up the crowd who were baking in the hot LA sun since 1:30 PM.
Third Fight: Jessie Roman of Garden Grove, CA (18-2-0 9KO) won via an 8 round UD over Evincli Dixon of Lancaster, PA (5-6--2 2KO). Scores: 80-72, 80-72 and 79-73.
Second Fight: Wes Nofire Of Tahlequah, OK (17-0-0, 13 KO) won over Joel Godfrey of Fayettville, NC (17-14-1, 6KO) by TKO. Godfrey got really pummeled at the end part of round three and quit on his stool before the next bell.
First fight: Anthony Flores of LA (7-0-0-5KO) remained unbeaten with a UD win over William Hughes of Santa Cruz. CA (4-3-0, 3KO). Scores were all 60-54.
