QUEZON CITY - Nonito "The Filipino Flash" Donaire returned to the win column when he blew away William Prado of Brazil in two rounds Saturday night at the Araneta Coliseum. Donaire used the entire ring and his jab to measure Prado in the opening minutes of the fight before landing left uppercuts and right straights.

In the second, Donaire decided to make it a short night and connected with a series of sledgehammer lefts. Prado's face was turning red and a cut opened on his right eyebrow.

Referee Bruce McTavish decided to end the slaughter at the 2:16 mark.

During the post-fight press conference,Donaire said that he dedicated his fight to all the Filipino overseas workers.

'I know how hard it is to be away from your family,' Donaire said, "I've been away from mine for a month to train for this fight.' The Donaires are also expecting a second child.

Donaire (34-3,22KO's) gave his performance a rating of 7 out of 10. He said he still needs to be patient. This was echoed by his father-trainer Nonito,Sr who wants his son to stick more to the game plan and avoid the over reliance on his power.

But Donaire, who gets the NABF super bantamweight title, feels that he is back and ready to compete at the championship level once again. He is eying a rematch with WBO/WBA champ Guillermo Rigondeaux or the WBC champ Leo Santa Cruz.
