LAS VEGAS -- Tonight at the cavernous MGM Grand configured to fit the show planned for the inaugural event presented by Al Haymon?s Premier Boxing Champions, Keith Thurman of Clearwater, Florida, met Robert Guerrero of Gilroy, CA at ring center for the main event.

The show complete with MMA style fighter?s entrance and a brand new way of lighting up the ring using LED instead of the standard tungsten light used in past fight cards can be best described as mildly successful. The announced attendance was slightly over 10,000 although that?s a bit of a stretch. More like 8500 is a better estimate. But be that as it may, the show was as good as it can get given the fact that totally different folks were running it, from cameramen to the supporting crew.

Keith Thurman kept his record immaculate at 25-0-0, 21KO with a clinical fight that involved a mix of good infighting and boxing from a distance. Robert Guerrero (32-3-1, 18KO) gave it his best many times keeping Thurman honest with his close quarter fighting. But it was just not enough to upset Thurman who threw scary and crazy punches from all angles in spite being hampered by a large swelling on his left forehead courtesy of an accidental headbutt in round 3. Thurman dropped Guerrero in round 9 and from there just cruise to victory keeping his record unblemished and his WBA welterweight title. Scores were 120-107,118-109 and 118-109.

In the main supporting event, cocky Adrien Broner of Cincinnati, OH (30-1-0, 22KO) was just too much and too fast for the past fading John Molina of Covina CA 27-6-0,22KO. Broner scored a wide 120-108, 120-108 and 118-110 unanimous decision win.
