WORLD POOL CHAMPIONSHIP FINAL 16 UNDERWAY; 4 PINOYS REMAIN

GENERAL SANTOS CITY ? 4 Filipinos and 4 Taiwanese led the elite Final 16 after half of the Final 32 were sent packing Friday afternoon at the ongoing 2015 MP Cup 10-Ball World Championship hosted by the SM City Gensan. The Philippines' Carlo Biado, rated No. 10, remained the highest ranked player still in contention who, along with compatriots Johann Chua, Warren Kiamco and Lee Van Corteza will try to make the Philippine flag flying as the tournament goes into the homestretch.

The formidable Taiwanese players composed of Ko Pin Yi, Yang Ching Shun, Cheng Yu Hsuan and Ko Ping Ching, on the other hand, will try to carry the task after its world number one player Chang Yu Lung fell yesterday. Other players rounding up the Final 16 are Radoslaw Babiba and Mieszko Fortuniski of Poland, Irsa Nasution and Ricky Yang of Indonesia, Marcus Chamat of Sweden, Ruslan Chinakhov of Russia, David Alcaide of Spain and Liu Haitao of China.

Biado faces Poland's Babica on TV table while Kiamco takes on Cheng of Taiwan. Johann Chua faces fellow Filipino Lee Van Corteza.
