
ALA-COBRA: GUMBAN AND UGBANIEL MAKE WEIGHT

CEBU- Melvin ?Top Gun? Gumban and Weljan Ugbaniel are set for their twelve round clash for the vacant Philippine super flyweight championship. Gumban, who hails from Escalante City, will also be risking his unbeaten record of 18W, with 9KO?s.
Ugbaniel (13W-2L-1D,4KO?s), from Sarangani, made 115 lbs on his first try on the scales while Gumban had to shed an extra pound for less than an hour to make the division limit. Their fight will serve as the main event of the ALA-Cobra ?Tunay na Lakas? boxing promotion on Sinulog Sunday at the Gaisano Country Mall Parking Area.
The official weigh-in was held noontime today at the Gaisano Country Mall food court supervised by Glenn Agena of GAB-Cebu. This fight card will be free to the public.
For the main supporting bout, Elmo ?Bisdak? Traya of Tabuelan stepped on the scales at 134.5 lbs while Giovani Rota sweated to make 136lbs. They are set for eight rounds.
For the other undercard matches - Vicente Casido (121lbs) vs Bryan Samson(122lbs) ? 6 rounds, Melvin Jerusalem (106lbs) vs Rez Padrogane (103lbs) ? 6 rounds, Gerald Suico (116lbs) vs Junrex Saldivia (116lbs)? 4 rounds, Junder Gregorio (125.5lbs) vs Jesson Horteza (126lbs) ? 4 rounds, Joepher ?MaiMai? Montano (130lbs) vs Junie Villacrucis (133lbs) ? 4 rounds and Michael Estrella (106lbs) vs Jonnel Burlado (106lbs)? 4 rounds.
This event will coincide with the culmination of the renowned Sinulog Festival of Cebu. Fight night on January 18 will start at 6PM.
