TOURNAMENT TO DETERMINE MAYWEATHER?S CHALLENGER IS UTTERLY STUPID!

Pardon me, but in my humble opinion the proposal of promoter Sampson Lewkowicz and approved by the WBC to hold a tournament amongst welterweights and junior middleweights to determine a challenger for Floyd Mayweather is utterly stupid. But it looks good in paper.

What makes Mayweather so special to deserve such an accolade? I would clearly understand it if he fought every deserving fighter that challenged him and several more are determined to be worthy challengers.

But that is not the case. There is one Manny Pacquiao he refuses to fight!

The rationale is stale. He cherry-picked his opponents. Mayweather will not fight anyone he thinks is a danger to his ?0?. That is why he fought guys like a blown out Juan Marquez and the likes of Robert Guerrero and Victor Ortiz who had no chance in hell to beat him. Even Marcus Maidana who is a reckless KO artist ranks amongst those.

Of course WBC without blinking an eye would love to have such a tournament. Hey, the tournament will bring lots of money on sanction fees, so why not?

In my mind, there is no need for a tournament. Just get Mayweather to sign the dotted line to fight Manny Pacquiao.

But like I said, the fight is not going to happen Mayweather is scared like hell that Pacquiao may get lucky and end his undefeated career.

Mayweather will never run out of excuses. He will even present the most ridiculous ones to justify his ducking of Pacquiao.

But he is increasingly being pushed to the corner and even his advisers are running out of legitimate reasons not to fight the Filipino spit-fire.

Now he is focusing on the revenue split. He wants far more than what he deserves claiming he is the A side fighter. It?s more like he is A side cherry picker!

I would not be surprised if Mayweather will ?retire? again, if Pacquiao accepts all conditions leaving Mayweather no other choice but fight or retire.

But he knows Pacquiao will not submit to his ridiculous demands and so he will claim that it was not him who allowed the fight to not happen and he will happily walk away with his ?0? still intact and cherry pick his next opponent. The sad part is ShowTime will agree to that!

Incidentally, what?s the guarantee that Mayweather will fight the winner of the tournament? Is he willing to sign and agree that he will fight the winner?

I doubt it very much!

So what?s the big deal about putting a tournament that will not be honor by Mayweather.

Oh I forgot. Money for the promoters and sanction fee for the WBC!

Sorry.
