IK YANG RETURNS AGAINST THAI VETERAN SAKKREERIN ON 'FIST OF POWER II'

SHANGHAI ? Up-and-coming undefeated Chinese light welterweight slugger Ik Yang returns today, Tuesday, against Thai veteran Fahsai Sakkreerin for the vacant IBF Pan-Pacific junior welterweight title at the futuristic Mercedez Benz Arena in Shanghai's financial district in Pudong.

Yang (17-0-0, 12KO), a native of Da Lian, a major port city in Northeast China, comes into tonight's fight by stopping ten of his last twelve opponents including an 8th round knockout victory over Sukkasem Kietyongyuth (13-3-0, 8KO) of Thailand for the WBO Asia-Pacific lightweight title last August 26, also at the Mercedez Benz Arena in 'Fist of Power I'.

Yang will face highly experienced Thai Fahsai Sakkreerin (41-5-1, 22KO) who fought but lost the IBF super featherweight title eliminator against Rances Barthelemy of the US on June 6, 2013 in Minnesota. Sakkreerin won his last fight against Rivo Rengkung (32-21-5, 12KO) of Indonesia by unanimous decision.

During Monday's weighin, Yang, fighting at junior welterweight for the first time, came in at 140 lbs while Sakkreerin stepped the scales at 137 lbs.

In the co-main event, Ma Yiming (11-5-0, 7KO) of Shen Yang, China will go up against Tommy Seran (25-3-0, 15KO) of Indonesia for the vacant IBF Pan-Pacific light flyweight title over 10 rounds. Although Yiming lost five of his first eight fights, he went on undefeated since then with a string of eight victories and stopped his last four opponents. Seran, meanwhile, lost two of his last three fights including a 4th round knockout defeat against the Philippines' Milan Melindo on April 6, 2013 in Macau. Yiming weighed in at 107 lbs while Seran weighed at 105 lbs Monday.

Zhou Yunfei (3-0-0, 1KO) of Da Lian, China goes up against Joe Rea (10-15-3, 4KO) of Australia, 6 rounds super middleweight. Weights: Yunfei ? 165 lbs.; Rea ? 165 lbs.

Adili (1-0-0, 0KO) of Hou Cheng, China will face Mike Merafuentes (2-1-0, 2KO) of the Philippines, 4 round middleweight. Weights: Adili ? 162 lbs.; Merafuentes ? 160 lbs.

YelieQiati (debut), 117.6 lbs, China vs Liu Yongcai (1-0-2, 1KO), 121 lbs, China, 4 rounds super bantaweight.

Xu Que (0-1-1, 0KO), 123 lbs, Ning Hai, China vs Hu Liang (0-1-0, 0KO), 121 lbs., China, 4 rounds featherweight.

Halimubieke (1-0-0, 0KO), 130 lbs., Fu Yun, China vs Wang Yingang (1-0-0, 1KO), 129 lbs, China, 4 rounds super featherweight.

First of Power II is being promoted by SECA in partnership with Top Rank.

First fight starts at 7:00 p.m. Doors will open at 5:30 p.m.
